Lovers’ Bridge and Jardins de l’Europe
The Lovers’ Bridge, a small pedestrian bridge suspended over the Vassé canal, is Annecy’s classic meeting point. From it you cast a glance over the lake, then move on to the Jardins de l’Europe, whose tall trees dip their branches in the water. Just next to them, the Pâquier, a vast lawn facing the open water, lends itself to picnics and late afternoons on a terrace.
Around the lake together
Cycling around Lake Annecy, along the forty-kilometre greenway, is a classic for a shared day. You stop at Veyrier-du-Lac, then at the Bay of Talloires, one of the most photographed in France, and dive into the cool water in summer. A picnic under the willows, a sorbet on the square, and the conversation flows easily to the rhythm of the bike.
Albigny beach and gentle evenings
North of town, Albigny Beach spreads its grass and small pontoon, ideal for a swim at sunset. Up high, the Semnoz offers a splendid view over the lake and Mont Blanc, perfect for a romantic walk in summer. On Lyad, members from Annecy share their favourite coves and lakeside cafés; it is up to you to find someone to taste them with.
